Built in Vyborg 1981. Converted in 1990 and upgraded in 1996, 2002, 2005, 2006. Extensive works were carried out in 2006, included but not limited to refurbishment of all interiors (cabins, messroom, galley etc) and upgraded to carry aviation fuel. Vessel is in compliance with SPS code (Special Purpose Ship) to carry 90 lab personnel plus crew.
